T.U.D. Will Select Board President

Sonora, CA — Later today the T.U.D. Board of Directors will select a President and Vice President for the next year.

Last December it took several motions before the board finally agreed on Ron Ringen as President and Kent Johnson as Vice President. District rules state that a member can serve as President for up to two years, so the members will decide whether to reappoint Ringen, or select someone else. In addition, the Board will decide whether to declare a local State of Emergency due to pervasive tree mortality. CAL OES has funding available for removal of dead trees through the California Disaster Assistance Act, and in order to be eligible, the district must pass a declaration. It is estimated that there are 500 dead trees that could damage the ditch system and other T.U.D. facilities.

Today’s meeting starts at 2pm and you can watch it live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
