San Andreas, CA — Residents in the Butte Fire Area are advised to take necessary precautions to prepare for the incoming storm system.
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that there is an increased possibility of flooding, debris flow and mudslides in the fire area The Sheriff’s Office encourages you to have battery powered radios to receive the latest information, and your cell phone charged, in the event of potential power outages.
As reported earlier, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada from 4am Thursday through 7am Friday. Significant snowfall is possible above 4,000 ft. and heavy rain is anticipated in the foothills. Winds of 25-35 miles are expected, which could cause power outages.
