Seasonal Road Closures In Stanislaus

Sonora, CA — With the wintry like weather arriving, most Stanislaus National Forest roads and trails will close for the season tomorrow.

While some of the forest roads remain open year-round, a majority are annually closed from December 16 through April 14. The forest roads that remain open are not maintained throughout the winter, so you will want to use caution and drive defensively. Rocks, snow and ice could be encountered at any time. It is also noted that wet, saturated roadbeds can easily be damaged, which can cause the need for costly repairs to roads and adjacent resources.

A revised Stanislaus National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map is available to the public. You can find it by clicking here.
