The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada, which is in effect from 4 AM Friday through 4 PM Saturday.
Total snow accumulations will range from one to three feet above 5500 feet.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel. Travel difficulties over the Sierra range will be likely so carry tire chains and extra supplies.
