After an extended dry period, wet weather will return this Wednesday and Thursday.
This is an average storm by February standards, with the primary impacts affecting travelers in the upper portions of the Sierra Nevada.
According to the National Weather Service, total rainfall amounts will range from up to one inch across the Central Valley and one and a half to three inches over the Sierra Nevada.
Up to two feet of total snow accumulation is expected across the higher elevations of the Sierra.
Expect slick roads due to both rain and snow along with chain controls across the Sierra and possible travel delays.
