Jamestown, CA — Mother Lode road crews are now working to remove rock and replace fencing by the Lake Tulloch Bridge.
As little or no advance notice was provided or posted along Obrynes Ferry Road, motorists who use the bridge were surprised this morning to find one-way traffic controls in place approaching both sides of the bridge. Flaggers are holding traffic for up to ten minutes at a time while a pilot vehicle guides motorists along one lane through the work zone, set up in the “s” curves on the Tuolumne County side, where a catch fence was removed. Rock is being dug out by hand crews with shovels as well as with a crane.
The crews, who will also be replacing some fencing, are reportedly trying to complete their work by noon. In the meantime, motorists should plan for travel delays and caution in the cone zone, as there are multiple work vehicles and heavy equipment.
