Knights Ferry, CA – A tree has crashed down onto Tulloch Dam Road north east of Knights Ferry in Tuolumne County blocking both lanes.
The CHP reports it is just north of Highway 108/120, but not affecting that roadway. County road crews are heading to the scene and will be using a chain saw to remove the limbs and debris, which could take about an hour. Officers are turning traffic around in both directions, so motorists will want to find an alternative route.
The CHP reports the weather may be to blame for bringing the tree down. The National Weather Service has reported heavy rains in the Mother Lode for this weekend including some flood watches, so travelers should take precautions and watch for falling trees, rockslides and fast rising water, according to the CHP.
