Calaveras, CA — The CHP reports four people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 4.
The incident happened west of Black Springs Road in the Ganns Meadow area south of Bear Valley during the recent storms. The CHP reports 28-year-old Robert A. Harrison IV of Santa Cruz driving a 2004 Toyota eastbound lost control of the vehicle and veered into an oncoming 2005 Honda driven by 57-year-old Mark Robert Vigeant of Granite Bay. Sgt. Toby Butzler notes the cause was, “Unsafe speed due to the roadway conditions. It was snowing at the time and they were going a little too fast for the roadway and lost control.”
Harrison and his two passengers, 33-year-old Jay Lilley and 30-year-old Theodore R. Wood IV, both of Murphys, all received minor injuries in the crash. Lilley and Vigeant were taken by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center. Sgt. Butzler reports drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
The wreckage blocked the westbound lane of the highway for about 20 minutes as tow crews worked to remove the debris.
