Sonora, CA — About 90 local water customers on “boil water” notice since last Friday will remain so through the weekend.
Clarke Broadcasting reached out to Blue Bell Valley Mutual Water Company Friday for a status update on tests that were conducted following a system flush that became necessary after a routine sample came back last week testing positive for fecal coliform. Since that time, residents of the Blue Bell Valley Development and other nearby customers who receive Blue Bell Valley Mutual Water Company water were told to boil tap water or use bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes until further notice.
According to utility board member Darlene Marden, whose home is on the system, the first sample came back clean and results for a second set are now expected back around noon on Monday. “As soon as we get back a good report, we will send out notices, because nobody likes to boil water,” she adds with a bit of a sigh and a solid chuckle.
