Huge Crowd For Irish Day Parade

Murphys, CA — As the luck of the Irish would have it, the sunny skies and mild temperature brought a large crowd out filling Main Street in Murphys.

Parade goers found plenty of ways to show their Irish spirit. They painted their faces with shamrocks, and others wore hats and went as far as to cover their hair. The revelers cheered on leprechauns, dogs, horses, and hot rods. A big crowd pleaser was a giant motorized shopping cart, but the crowed roared when the sound of the bagpipe was heard. (Video of that music can be heard in the upper left hand image box along with pictures from the parade.)

The fun ran until 6 p.m. and even Mother Nature showed her Irish side by painting a bit of a rainbow in the sky.
