Update at 11:30am: Old Priest Grade is back open following a crash that closed it for several hours. The CHP reports that a medium sized box truck (moving truck) was going down the grade at around 6:30am and the driver lost control and hit side embankment. The truck was too big for the road, according to the CHP. The driver sustained moderate injuries. The individuals name has not immediately been released by officials.
Original story posted at 7:40am: A vehicle accident has Old Priest Grade temporarily closed this morning.
The CHP reports that one person has received “moderate injuries” resulting from the solo vehicle incident. The details of the crash are not immediately clear. County road crews are being requested to remove debris and oil from the road, and a tow truck is also responding.
New Priest Grade is the alternate route. It is unknown how long Old Priest Grade will be closed. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
