Gas Prices Spike Over Recent Weeks

Sonora, CA — The nationwide average price of regular unleaded gasoline jumped 17-cents over the past two weeks.

The nationwide average for a gallon is up to $2.02. California’s average price is much higher at $2.68. Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg attributes the increase to  higher crude oil prices and increased demand. Locally, California refineries have also begun the steps to transition over to summer blend fuel, increasing the prices statewide.

Among urban areas, Los Angeles has the highest average price, nationwide, at $2.72-per-gallon. The myMotherLode.com gas price section shows that regular unleaded is selling in Sonora from 2.19 to 2.59 and in San Andreas from 2.49 to 2.59.
