Update: Crash Sparks Vegetation Fire, Roadway Completely Reopened

Update at 2:45 p.m.: The CHP report Pool Station Road has completely reopened and traffic is moving once again.

Update 2:15 p.m.: The CHP report that one lane of Pool Station Road has reopened and officers are directing traffic. Minor injuries are reported in the crash with one person transported via ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center.

Update at 1:45 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the vegetation fire has been contained at a third of an acre and crews are mopping up. The CHP reports that Pool Station Road remains closed with officers diverting traffic as there are still live power lines down.

Update at 1:05 p.m.: The CHP reports that  Pool Station road has been shutdown as there are live power lines down due to the vehicle hitting the pole. Cal fire reports the vegetation fire that was sparked in a third of an acre. Crew we having a problem getting to the flames, according to Cal Fire dispatch due to the live lines with one of them resting on a barbed wire fence.  A PG&E crew has been called to the scene.

Original post at 1 p.m.: Copperopolis, CA — Firefighters and the CHP are heading to a crash on Pool Station Road near Riata Way off Highway 4 in the Copperopolis area.

The CHP reports a vehicle has smashed into a power pole bringing done the lines. A small vegetation fire has been ignited, according to the CHP. An ambulance is also on the way to the scene, but there is no word on injuries. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
