Sonora, CA — You can hear from the newly appointed Sheriff of Calaveras County, Rick DiBasilio.
On this weekend’s Mother Lode Views, Sheriff DiBasilio will speak about his vision for the department following the death of late Sheriff Gary Kuntz. He will talk about challenges facing local law enforcement, how the current level of staffing is holding up, his thoughts on the new controversial marijuana ordinance, and efforts to get ready for the busy summer recreation and fire season.
Sheriff DiBasilio emerged as the top choice to become Sheriff following public interviews with the finalists conducted by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.
