Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County leaders are set to approve a roughly $170-million overall budget at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
CAO Craig Pedro reports that the number is actually down by about $10-million compared to the current fiscal year, but that is due to infrastructure projects wrapping up, such as the juvenile detention center. The Supervisors will also vote whether to send a letter to Governor Jerry Brown asking for local vetting of candidates for the Mother Lode Fair Board. The fair has been in recent disarray due to conflicts between the board and staff. Click here to read an earlier story.
In addition, the Supervisors will hear a report from Sonora City Administrator Tim Miller about the progress towards widening the Greenley Road/Mono Way intersection. The city has been negotiating to purchase the Corner Gas property which is needed for the widening. The hope has been to have the project completed before the opening of SRMC’s new Cancer Center that is being constructed at the former Andy’s Hardware location. Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am.
