Update: Sawmill Fire In Sutter Creek

Update at 7:45 p.m.: Amador Fire has confirmed that during the fire that 40–45 employees were working and they were all evacuated safely and with zero injuries. The nearby Industry Boulevard shopping center was closed with no estimated time for a reopening. Amador fire will be accessing the incident and providing more updated information at a later date.

Update at 5:20 p.m.: The fire is still burning but all vegetation spot fires have been contained. The nearby Amador Plaza has been evacuated due to safety concerns. Amador County Sheriff’s Office will have patrols in the area for the next 24 hours and request people stay out of the area. The mill appears to be a total loss.

Update at 3:17 p.m.: Amador Fire has provided some additional information. No road closures or evacuations are in place in the area but the power to some nearby buildings may be impacted as crews continue to work on the incident.

Update at 2:35 p.m.: CAL FIRE is reporting the fire has spread to nearby vegetation. Firefighters have put a wet line around the vegetation fire. The building is now fully involved.

Original post at 2:08 p.m.: Sutter Creek CA– A fire has broken out at a sawmill in Sutter Creek. Firefighting resources are on the scene of the structure fire. All of the employees have been evacuated and are accounted for. Currently, no evacuations are in place for the surrounding areas.

Timber Products is headquartered in Springfield, Oregon. The facility they manage in Sutter Creek produces Ampine, Apex, and Encore particle board panels. No information on the amount of damage or cause of the fire. More information will be provided as the story develops.
