Sonora, CA — The identity of a local man who perished in a deadly motorcycle crash over the weekend has been publicly released.
It was Larry M. Freschi, 73, of Soulsbyville, who died at the scene of a solo accident Saturday afternoon, as previously reported here. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Sonora Unit, the motorcyclist crashed his specially constructed 1999 bike while headed west on Highway 108 at about 1:45 p.m., west of Herring Creek Lane in the Strawberry area. The CHP reports he was riding at unknown speeds when his motorcycle abruptly left the roadway and met the dirt shoulder. Losing control of the bike, he subsequently hit a metal paddle marker and a large tree before overturning down an embankment.
