Calaveras County, CA — Two notable vehicle accidents occurred in Calaveras County over the weekend.
The CHP reports the first occurred around 5pm on Saturday along Murphys Grade Road near Fairview Park Court. 61-year-old Francine Joy of Murphys drifted off the road in her 2003 Honda and hit a tree. The vehicle completely overturned and came to a rest on its roof down an embankment. Joy was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center to treat “moderate” injuries.
The following day, at 1:40pm, a motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 4 east of Hermit Valley. 61-year-old Donald Van Hooser of Roseville swerved his 2008 Harley Davidson to avoid a bump in the road, but lost control and the motorcycle overturned in the roadway. Both he and 60-year-old Cyndee Reed, also of Roseville, were ejected. The motorcycle continued off the road and hit a tree. The two were taken to Mark Twain Medical Center to treat reported “minor” injuries.
