Update: Traffic Moving On HWY 49 After Stuck Big Rig Freed

Update at 1:10 p.m.: Traffic is moving once again on Highway 49 near Jackass Hill Road were a big rig truck that got stuck trying to make the curve in the roadway.  The CHP reports that tow crews helped to free the semi that was blocking the eastbound lane and traffic is moving freely once again. Officers had been directing one-way traffic control for about 45 minutes.

Original post at 12:08 p.m.: Sonora, CA — There is a traffic hazard to be aware of on Highway 49 near Jackass Hill Road.

A big rig truck got stuck trying to make the curve in the roadway. The CHP reports that the eastbound lane is blocked, so officers are conducting traffic control. Be prepared for a delay. Traffic is getting backed up in the area.
