Sonora, CA — Tonight the Sonora City Planning Commission will vote whether to issue a design review permit for a planned entertainment venue, which includes a beer garden, in downtown Sonora.
We reported last month in a feature story that developer Doug Kennedy is proposing the project at 198 South Green Street next to his existing Bourbon Barrel. The item on today’s agenda would allow for alterations to the existing buildings. The planned project includes a beer garden and wine facility, outdoor seating and live entertainment. Kennedy indicated that construction would take around six months to complete. Click here to find the earlier feature story.
In a separate matter, the commission will vote whether to allow for the demolition of three abandoned buildings in downtown Sonora. They are at 549 and 559 South Washington Street and 558 South Stewart Street. The applicant is Heide Cortopassi.
The open to the public Planning Commission meeting starts at 5:30pm at City Hall.
