While weather forecasts promise the temperature will climb back up to 90 degrees, as reported here, the first day of Autumn did see the temperature go below 50 degrees briefly. Enjoy mild sunny weather this weekend by going out and attending these local events.

The 18th Annual Fall Health Fair is also this Saturday at the Mark Twain Medical Center. Details on the tests they will offer are in our KVML “Newsmaker of the Day” from Wednesday.
The Fiddle & Bango Contest (purposely misspelling the word banjo) is held at the gazebo in Columbia State Historic Park. More than 40 musicians compete for prizes in several categories. The grand prize is a gold nugget, and there are cash prizes details are here.

Sunday is also the Angels Camp Gold Run. The event is a community sponsored 5K/10K race through the historic town of Angels Camp to benefit the students of Mark Twain Elementary School.
