Sonora, CA — After a more than nine month search an in-house candidate was selected to be Tuolumne County’s Chief Probation Officer (CPO).
On Thursday, presiding Judge of the Superior Court, Donald Segerstrom announced the appointment of Linda Downey. She will be sworn into the leadership position on Tuesday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m. in Department 1 at the county courthouse. As reported here, in December of 2015, Don Meyer was hired as Interim CPO to replace retiring Chief Adele Arnold.
Downey has more than 21 years of experience working in the county. Her first position was as an Eligibility Worker I with the Department of Social Services. She has also worked in or supervised over 20 different programs, among them: Grand Jury inquiries; developing and implementing policies and procedures; oversight of the Emergency Children’s Shelter; HOPE House for emancipated foster youth; and budgetary and employee management.
