Sonora, CA — While conditions are expected to be mostly dry throughout the daytime hours, another wet weather system, bringing snow to the high country, should arrive this evening.
National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the western slope of the Sierra Nevada from 5pm today through 8am Tuesday. 2-4 inches of snow is possible above 6000 ft. with 6 to 8 inches at the highest peaks, with this new storm system. Rain is a possibility in the foothills, later in the evening, after around 9pm.
Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass is closed 1.3 miles west of the east end of Lake Alpine, Highway 108 Sonora Pass is closed at Kennedy Meadows and Highway 120 Tioga Pass is closed at Crane Flat. The passes are anticipated to reopen later this week, but when, is unclear.
