Funding Restrooms In Downtown Sonora

Sonora, CA — The city is asking for the public to chip into a Vision Sonora Capital Improvement Fund established to pay for restroom facilities.

The fund has been set up through the Sonora Area Foundation. City officials call it an important improvement project for Sonora with the donations ear marked for the construction of bathrooms at 201 South Stewart Street.  It will be a public restroom that will also serve Sonora’s Certified Farmers Market.

The cost to build the facility is estimated at about $138,000.  Those wanting to contribute can make check donations to the Sonora Area Foundation with “Vision Sonora Fund” on the memo line.  Funding questions can be directed to the Sonora Area Foundation at (209) 533-2596. For project details call the City’s Community Development Department at (209) 532-3508.
