Don Pedro, CA — After taking a short break late last week, heavy construction, and traffic delays, have returned at the Highway 120 James E. Roberts Bridge.
Weather permitting, construction will result in the bridge being closed each Sunday night through Thursday night, from 5pm through 7am. The work is anticipated to continue through February of 2017. A detour is set up away from the bridge, via Jacksonville Road, which results in notable delays. The roughly $20-million project includes replacing the bridge deck and railings, strengthening the existing girders and providing a seismic retrofit for the structure. It should extend the service life by an additional 40 years and make for safer and smoother driving conditions.
