Update at 2:50 p.m.: PG&E has pushed back the repair time to 6 p.m. for the remaining 786 customers in the Cedar Ridge and Comstock Ranch areas that are still without power. The CHP reports officers continue to direct one-way traffic control on Kewin Mill Road, which had been shut down for nearly three hours. The lights went out for nearly 8,000 customers in Cedar Ridge, a section of Twain Harte, Sierra Village and up into Long Barn just before 11 a.m. Most of the lights went back on around 1 p.m.
Update at 2:05 p.m.: The CHP reports that Kewin Mill Road has reopened to one-lane traffic control after being shut down nearly three hours due to a truck bringing down power lines. Electricity was restored in the one o’clock hour to all but 786 PG&E customers out of the nearly 8,000 that were without lights. The company still has a 2:30 p.m. estimated time of repair.
Update at 1 p.m.: Most of the power has been restored in Tuolumne County after a big rig brought down power lines on Kewin Mill Road. PG&E crews have restored electricity to most of the 7,925 customer while about 786 are still without lights in the Cedar Ridge and Comstock Ranch areas. The outage had stretched through a section of Twain Harte, Sierra Village and up into Long Barn. The company still has a 2:30 p.m. estimated time of repair.
Original post at 11:30 a.m.: Sonora, CA — There is a wide-scale power outage in Tuolumne County due to a vehicle accident on Kewin Mill Road.
PG&E reports that 7,925 customers are without electricity. The outage stretches throughout portions of Cedar Ridge, Twain Harte and up to Sierra Village and Long Barn. PG&E hopes to have the impacted customers restored by 2:30pm.
The outage occurred when a big rig truck came into contact with some power lines on Kewin Mill Road, near Comstock Ranch Road, at 10:56am. Powerlines are in the roadway along Kewin Mill Road so you will want to avoid the area.
