Great weather and good publicity had a positive affect on the number of tourists who came to visit Calaveras County during the Summer.
Boulton, Executive Director for the Calaveras County Visitors Bureau, was Friay’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
After receiving numerous reports from area lodges, motels and campgrounds, Boulton delivered an optimistic report for area tourism during the Summer months. Boulton continues to expect a busy late Autumn and Winter for both locals and tourists.
According to Boulton, “Although the numbers are not yet official, we saw a definite increase in traffic and tourists discovering Calaveras County. Tourists enjoyed events in the lower elevations and the numerous camping facilities and hiking trails throughout the Sierra Nevada. We made sure that our visitors were aware of our golf courses, lakes, rivers and reservoirs and plenty of other things to see and do.”
In order to keep the momentum going, Boulton talked about the 2016 Calaveras Holiday Shopping Guide that will benefit both tourists and locals. Various events and attractions are listed in the guide, which is found on the website.
