Update: Mono Way Completely Reopened After Crash

Update at 9:15 a.m.: The CHP reports tow crews have removed the wreckage from a two vehicle crash at Mono Way at the Highway 108 Bypass intersection that blocked traffic. The collision happened around 8:15 a.m. when the CHP says one of the motorists ran a red light and smashed into oncoming traffic. The intersection was completely blocked for about ten minutes, then officers had to direct one-way traffic for about 35 minutes.  One person complained of neck pain at the scene.

Original post at 8:29 a.m.: Sonora, CA — The CHP is on the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the Highway 108 Bypass intersection on Mono Way near  the Sonora Ford dealership.

The roadway is blocked in both directions so traffic is getting backed up. There are reports that a vehicle ran a red light and one person in the vehicle is complaining of neck pain. An ambulance is on the scene. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
