Local Ski Resort Opening For Season

Bear Valley, CA — Several will be traveling through the Mother Lode today to hit the slopes.

Thanks to a little help from Mother Nature this November, but primarily the ability to make its own snow, Bear Valley opens today. The resort is also planning to receive some fresh precipitation over the next couple of days. Click here to read an earlier story about the weather.

Opening weekend will feature the annual Winterfest Celebration at Bear Valley Village which will include bonfires, movies and food. In addition, the Bear Valley cross country area will open today as well. The retail areas open at 8am with the lifts running from 9am-4pm. Several resorts in the Lake Tahoe area that are also opening this weekend. There is no word yet on a potential opening date for Dodge Ridge.
