Sonora, CA — A list of items will await the Tuolumne County Supervisors at the board’s first meeting of December.
On the agenda is an employment agreement with David Gonzalves to be the county’s new Community Resources Agency Director, effective January 3. He is slated to take over for outgoing director Bev Shane. Gonzalves was the top finalist among 22 candidates. He currently serves as the Director of Development Services for the City of Merced. Gonzalves will be paid $152,590 annually, plus benefits.
The Board will also continue the discussion about whether it would like to hire H.T. Harvey and Associates as the Biologist of Record for consultation on natural resource related matters. We reported earlier this month that the county had postponed action in hopes of receiving additional information.
In addition, the Supervisors will review the results of a recent traffic survey looking at the speeds motorists drive on various county roads. Based on the results, and the condition of the roads, the board will debate whether to increase speed limits, by 5 mph, along sections of Campo Seco Road, Mono Way, Parrotts Ferry Road, Rawhide Road, Tuolumne Road, Twain Harte Drive and Ferretti Road.
And the Supervisors will set a time and place to hear an appeal of the planning commission’s decision earlier this month to deny construction of a Dollar General Store in the Lake Don Pedro area. Meeting documents indicate that it will likely be on either January 3 or 17 in the Don Pedro High School Gym, starting at 6pm.
The December 6 supervisors meeting will begin at 9am in the board meeting room in downtown Sonora.
