Update: December Arrives With A High Wind Warning

The High Wind Warning issued for the Sierra Nevada will expire at 10 PM this evening.

According to the National Weather Service, winds of thirty to forty mph will continue with gusts reaching up to sixty mph.

Some of the impacts will include possible strong crosswinds, which could cause numerous trees to fall on structures and across roadways.

Highway 108 (Sonora Pass) and Highway 4 (Ebbetts Pass) and Highway 120 (Tioga Pass) are all closed for the winter.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or is occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least forty mph or gusts of fifty eight mph or more can lead to property damage.
