Update at 5 p.m.: The CHP now reports that Highway 49 was not closed during the two-vehicle crash south of Tuttletown road. Officer Faustino Pulido states, “The roadway was reported blocked. However, when officers arrived, only one lane of traffic was open, and fire personnel were able to conduct one-way traffic control the whole time, so, the roadway was never closed.”
Update at 3:45 p.m.: The CHP reports traffic is moving freely once again on Highway 49 after an SUV and a sedan crashed blocking both lanes. The roadway was shut down for about 20 minutes and then officers directed one-way traffic control for about another 15 minutes. There were minor injuries in the wreck, according to the CHP.
Update at 3:30 p.m.: The CHP reports officers are now directing one-way traffic control on the highway. The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. south of Tuttletown road. The CHP reports minor injuries in the crash.
Original post at 3 p.m.: Tuttletown, CA — A two-vehicle crash has traffic at a standstill on Highway 49 in the Tuttletown area.
The wreck happened just after 2:30 p.m. south of Tuttletown road. The CHP reports an SUV and a sedan collided and the wreckage is blocking both lanes. Two ambulances have been called to the scene but there is no word on injuries. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
