Library Announces Program Changes Due To Branch Closure

Tuolumne, CA — Storm damage closed the Tuolumne City Library Branch in January, now the county’s youth center will house some of the programs while repairs are being made to the building.

As reported here last month, the entire left wall facing the playground sustained significant damage due to water and leaks forcing the library’s closure.  Library officials have come up with a plan, which enables some programs to continue.  The new schedule will allow patrons to pick up requested library materials and return checked out items every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tuolumne City Youth Center located at 18636 Main Street in Tuolumne City.  The center will also host Story Time from 11 a.m. to Noon and the Crochet Club from Noon until 2 p.m. The Book Club will meet during the Noon to 2 p.m. hour every second Friday of the month.

The Tuolumne County Bookmobile will be parked at the center on February 17, March 3, and March 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Library officials also note that the Twain Harte Branch will remain opened an extra hour every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from Noon until 5 p.m. There will still be Wi-Fi available from the Tuolumne City Branch Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For further information please contact the Sonora Main Library at 533-5507.
