Update: Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Watch Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada, from late tonight through Thursday afternoon.

Total snow accumulations will range from half-a-foot to two feet above the 6,000 foot elevation.

Chain controls will be likely. Poor visibility may make travel hazardous. There will be renewed concern for mudslides over the steeper terrain.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
