A Jamestown Man Arrested For Hit And Run

Jamestown, CA — The CHP reports witnesses alerted officers to the hit and run and one says the man threatened to shoot the person.

The incident began on Willow Street in Jamestown on Monday around 7:15 p.m. when a witness reported that a man staggering and repeatedly yelling, “I will shoot you” to the Sonora CHP Unit Dispatch. The man was later identified as 60-year-old Timothy Brown of Jamestown. The witness also stated that Brown appeared to be drunk before getting behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup and taking off. However, it was unknown if Brown was armed as no weapon was seen on him.

Heading southbound on Main Street the truck side swiped an SUV but continued down the roadway until it broke down near Donovan Street. The CHP reports Brown was then seen jumping out of the pickup and running across Highway 108. Officers began searching the area across from the Kwik Serv gas station along the highway. They found Brown lying by a creek on his side semi-conscious and bleeding from his head. He was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center.

After treatment for head trauma, Brown was arrested for DUI, driving with a suspended license and misdemeanor hit-and-run. No gun was located but officers discovered Brown was wearing an ankle monitor, which the CHP says was related to an earlier drunk driving charge.
