Update: Sierra Nevada Weekend Winter Storm Watch

A cool Pacific weather system will bring a return of precipitation to the region this weekend into Monday, with fairly low snow levels.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon.

Total snow accumulations will range from four inches to three feet above the 3,000 foot elevation. The higher you go, the more the snow.

Winds of twenty-five to thirty-five mph are expected with gusts up to sixty mph.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
