Update at 4:30 p.m.: The CHP reports a tow crew has removed the debris from a two-vehicle wreck that was blocking the southbound lane of Highway 49. Officers had been directing one-way traffic control for about 15 minutes. There is no word on injuries at this time. (Further crash details are below.)
Original post at 4:16 p.m.: Columbia, CA — The CHP is on the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 near Springfield Road that is backing up traffic.
Emergency personnel is directing one-way traffic as the wreckage is blocking the southbound lane. There is no word on injuries at this time but an ambulance has been called to the scene.
