TUD To Do Evening Sewer Flushing In Sonora

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) crews will be doing the annual nighttime sanitary sewer collection system flushing program in downtown Sonora next week.

TUD officials say this yearly maintenance is done to improve pipe flow. The work is being done overnight to lessen the impact on motorists, according to TUD officials.  The flushing will take place from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, May 7th through Thursday, May 11th.  TUD provided this flushing schedule and what roadways will be impacted:

• Sunday, 5/7 – Washington Street from Hospital Road to Stockton Street
• Monday, 5/8 – Washington Street from Elkin Street to Linoberg Street
• Tuesday, 5/9 – Stewart Street from Restano Way to Theall Street
• Wednesday, 5/10 – Stewart Street from Restano Way to Theall Street and Linoberg Street from Washington Street to Bradford Street

TUD officials ask travelers to use caution in those work areas when around crews and equipment.
