Man Hurt In Highway 49 Motorcycle Crash

Calaveras County, CA — A Sonora man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Highway 49 in Calaveras County.

The CHP reports that it happened earlier this week near the intersection of Whittle Road.

60-year-old Adam Mead of Sonora was riding a 2006 Yamaha at around 50 mph when he saw a vehicle come to a stop in front of him. He applied the brakes, and the rear wheel started to skid, and the motorcycle overturned. Mead was ejected from the bike and sustained “moderate injuries.” He was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment.

It happened at 8:40am on Monday.
