Two Seriously Injured In Crash Near Mokelumne Hill

Mokelumne Hill, CA — The CHP reports that two people were injured in an early morning accident in Calaveras County.

It happened at around 1am this morning on Independence Road near Ridge Road. The CHP reports that 21-year-old Christopher Lane of Hayward was driving a 2013 Ford Mustang and he drifted off the road, went through two wire fences, and eventually hit a large pine tree. Lane, and his only passenger, 19-year-old Noah Tidwell of Roseville, both suffered major injuries and were flown by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. The CHP reports that high speed, and Lane’s level of intoxication, were contributing factors to the crash. Lane is charged with driving under the influence and causing injury to another person.
