Vegetation Fire Stopped Near New Melones

Columbia, CA– Firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire new New Melones Reservoir at the Parrots Ferry Bridge in Columbia.

The fire, named the “Parrott Fire” grew to a half acre and was backing towards to lake when the forward progress was quickly stopped. Crews will remain on the scene mopping up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
