Two Transported By Ambulance Following Calaveras Crash

Calaveras County, CA — Following a crash on Highway 12 in Calaveras County, two people were taken to Mark Twain Medical Center.

The CHP reports that it happened late Tuesday afternoon near the Central Hill Road intersection. 22-year-old Luis Angel Martinez of Shingle Springs was at a stop sign on Central Hill Road and started to drive his 2004 Lexus onto Highway 12. The CHP reports that the car went directly into the path of an oncoming 2011 Ford driven by 34-year-old Colby Daniel Rees of Volcano. The two vehicles collided, and Rees, and his lone passenger, 29-year-old Cecelia Elizabeth Rees, suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center. The CHP notes that alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in the collision.
