Update: Vegetation Fire on North Tuolumne Road Forward Rate Stopped

Update at 5 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports the forward rate of spread has been stopped and the fire is two acres in size.  All aircraft have been called off the fire. Crews will continue working on full containment and mopping up into the evening.

Original post at 4:30 p.m.: Tuolumne, CA — Columbia aircraft and firefighters are battling a vegetation fire in the Tuolumne area.

The fire is burning in grass in the area of North Tuolumne between Cherokee and 1/2 mile roads. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports it is one acre in size with a moderate rate of spread. No structures are threatened at this time. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
