The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada, from 4 PM this afternoon (Wednesday) until 10 PM Thursday.
Snow and blowing snow is expected.
The snow levels will begin around 6,500 to 7,000 feet this afternoon, before lowering to around 4,500 feet on Thursday morning.
Total snow accumulations will range from five to ten inches above 4,500 feet. A foot to a foot-and-a-half of snow is likely above 7,000 feet.
Winds may gust as high up to fifty mph over the higher terrain.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
