The Red Flag Warning continues for both the Mother Lode (1000 to 3,000 feet) and the Northern San Joaquin Valley (below 1,000 feet excluding the Delta) through Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, gusty northerly winds are expected to continue over interior Northern California into Tuesday. The combination of wind and low daytime humidity will lead to a period of increased potential for rapidly spreading fires.
The Red Flag Warning for the Mother Lode will expire at 8 AM Tuesday.
The Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the Northern San Joaquin Valley through 8 PM Tuesday.
Winds of ten to twenty mph will continue, with gusts possibly up to thirty mph.
Minimum humidity ranges between ten to twenty percent with moderate to poor overnight recoveries.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended and is banned in the Mother Lode.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
