The Pacific storm with wind, rain and snow will continue to move across the region through early Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, snow levels are high with this event but may at times fluctuate near major pass levels from today into Friday.
Motorists traveling into the mountains today into Friday should be prepared for winter weather conditions. Slick roads can be expected with the potential for localized flooding from leaf-clogged drains.
Rainfall totals through early Saturday will be up to a quarter inch in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, and one to two inches in the Mother Lode.
Snowfall totals will range from two to four inches above the 7,000 foot elevation.
Wind gusts up to forty-five mph are likely over the crest of the Sierra.
