Amador County, CA – A San Andreas man and a Jackson woman were arrested after a theft at the Ampine LLC in Martell, near Jackson.
A report of vandalism recently sent Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies to the business, located at 11610 Ampine-Fibreform Road. Once on the scene, they determined that numerous tools and equipment were stolen from the property. After viewing the security camera footage, investigators identified the suspect’s getaway vehicle. They also learned that the stolen items were posted for sale online, so they set up a buy-bust sting to recover them and arrest Teresa Lucero.
After Lucero was taken into custody, a search of her home turned up additional stolen property and led to another suspect, Paul Regruto. His residence was also searched, and detectives found additional stolen items there. However, Regruto was not at home at the time of the search but was located and arrested two days later.
Of note, as reported here in September, there was an equipment fire at the commercial lumber facility, which just the year prior suffered a devastating fire.
