Deadly Double Shooting At Sonora Area Home

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal double shooting at a home in the Sonora area.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson indicates that deputies responded to a home on Harmony Lane off Bellview Road on Monday after a family member requested a welfare check. It was noted that no one had heard from the residents for several days. Once inside the home, deputies discovered the bodies of a man and a woman. Sgt. Benson says both victims had died from gunshot wounds. She notes that a preliminary investigation points to a possible murder-suicide but the investigation is ongoing.

The names of the deceased are not being released pending positive identification followed by notification of family.
