Chinese Camp, CA — Emergency crews are on the scene of a deadly solo-vehicle crash near Chinese Camp.
The wreck happened just before 4 p.m. during the busy evening commute on the highway just east of Sims Road near the Montezuma Junction. The CHP reports a female driver died in the accident when her vehicle overturned on its roof in the eastbound lane of the roadway. Traffic is backed up in the area as officers are directing motorists around the wreckage.
The CHP also reports damage to a telephone pole but it is unclear if it was struck by the vehicle at this time.
