Car With Hidden Weapons Results In Jamestown Man’s Arrest

Sonora, CA – No front license plate on a vehicle caused a Sonora police officer to pull it over, and what he found inside was concerning and a crime, according to the SPD.

Police also noted that the vehicle had a broken taillight when it was recently stopped on Norlin Street near Yaney Street in downtown Sonora. While questioning the driver, 57-year-old Paul Cloninger, the officer noticed something disturbing on the driver’s side floorboard, as there were multiple fixed-blade knives.

A search of the vehicle uncovered knives that were hidden under the driver’s seat as well. Also located were two broken glass pipes containing a white residue. Cloninger was arrested for felony concealing a dirk or dagger and misdemeanor having drug paraphernalia.
